I have some theories...*please* keep this tube safe, we will have to run some curves on it...More importantly, it's a good thing the output transformer wasn't damaged, though I'd imagine the tube would have struggled to pass more than around 600mA an...
Would YO 186 be appropriate to use in "fundamental" chanel? Over narrower band width, to color, "spice," "flavor" more?
It would depend how the Fundamentals Channel is used. The YO186 has phenomenal lower MF, n...

VERY nice response, why not just let it pass .... you are not exactly the nicest person in the world right? .... come on rowuk ......

Thanks for the link, Romy.Very interesting.I need to run the numbers for 150 Hz, both high and low pass, 2nd order.Cement type resistor? Mills have gone to the dogs...Variable inductance OK (it might be handy...)?Have you tried s...

i am currently gathering parts for a pr. of full range melq.i would like to have the option to add a single stage to do 550 hz and up.then to switch the full range to do below 550hz.what transformer do you suggest for the high pass(i am ordering...
Romy, on Fundamentals channel did you leave the 20uF cap at speaker level or did you re-configure that band pass at line level?
Nope, it is hoe it depicted the 20uF cap at speaker level. I see no problems with ...
Can you pass me transformer parameters? What about tubes and sockets? Caps?
Alex, when the Mild become public then all specification and sources will be reviled. Meanwhile I have no further comments and ...

Try the “AYRE Irrational But Efficacious v. 1.2” cd. Works great to clear up grunge and noise in electronics and speakers. I think it probably acts to demagnetize equipment and soften speaker surrounds. Just need to run it one pass at moderate level....

Not to over think it, but just tossing it out there: Most tweeters/super tweeters do not have low pass filters to take care of +30 dB at 22k Hz. If your RTA uses a microphone, and your number is above the tweeter's natural output, adjusted for mic cu...

The answer could be simple .to round it up fast it(sound quality) equals to any PROBLEMATIC FREE playback system. That said being problematic free is not easy for any playback system or what you call high end thats why a cheap headphone may pass the ...

"The second question has to do with how to unload the Milq from low frequency < 60hz ? How to or where to install a low pass filter ? "Correction- it should read "How to or where to installation high pass filt...

Mainly because of my young daughter I have been listening to mostly solid state amps, I have enjoyed 'Digital DoMain's' B1-a VFET, and am now listening to a German 'Audioprojeckte' CA10, 10 watt class A design, ( I will post a link later as their sit...

I am not sure if the questions are wrong. Maybe they are just too early. There are plenty of audio people that pass around opinions as fact. That is a problem and most DIY pride is not in the absolute quality of sound, rather that it works, has wide ...

I never listened to Pass amps, neither class A nor class B, but I think I know a counter-example:The new powerful AB amps from Martion in my opinion play in the same league as the small class A amps in the Orgon active horn system concerning freedom ...

I think it would have to do more with power lines conductivity under low temperatures than with industry pollution:"Even among the materials considered conductive, there can be vast differences in how much electricity can actually pass through. I...

Roman,
Nevertheless, if that bass was truncated between the stages then the devastations are way more severe.
That may be so, however an LF response of less than -0.1db down @ 10Hz is what is normally called "ruler f...

Sure I was not able to do not listen it as the pain dried. It was incredible ad-hog sting of the drivers. All woofers are series. I know, I know but they are 4R each and I wanted to drive it with 2A3 just for the first test. The post is tuned - I hav...

Of course , if you need low pass , the chamber won't help .... but in seems to be that there are no good solution in this case . Too narrow bandwidth , and it will sound like a barrel :-) . Dima...

Chris, I did ask myself the same question: perhaps my given PTR9 is demagnetized. I called the last night to the owner of the tweeters and he said that he uses them for 7 years and they driver should be fine. He also expressed a lot of doubts if the ...
Anthony, I think you take the right this in a wrong way.
Sure the quality of the coupling caps is important but you truly shall not be worry
about it. Make the amp, get comfortable with it and then change the damn cap.

The electrolytic capacitors in the woofer low pass circuit are certainly dead. They look perfectly normal when old, just lose capacity in a serious way. The NS1000 had ferrite magnets that don't need remagnetization....

Just 1 attempt to explain dumb questions, then a sleeping pill:OK, mistook the interstage couplers for speaker level caps, as though all channels were single stage, and from there projected the "active" band pass at speaker level (wrong turn at ...

Romy, on Fundamentals channel did you leave the 20uF cap at speaker level or did you re-configure that band pass at line level? Are the RC feeds you mention pre-driver or interstage for A, B and C?Is everything still 1st order? Can you say already...

Ok, now it is done and it is official as I see nothing available for conceptual improvement in the crossover circuit. Interestingly this version offers the most interesting sound as well, since the circus was tune for sound, not vise-versa, it is wha...

Just how important are subharmonics and undertones in audio, and how they affect tone? I played around for a while with the Townshend supertweeters, this is a ribbon tweeter that you can barely listen to: you plug it in and put it next to your...

I am not completely thrilled with TwoGoodEars new crossover.

First off, I forgot to mention an interesting observation: Before running the sweeps (previous post), since the drivers in the upper-bass horns are new, I decided to verify/optimize rear chamber volume (they are easily adjustable)... I wasn't expecti...
